Our Mission
Biblical Counseling of Arizona was founded with mission to assist our community, regardless of race, creed, religion or tradition, and to experience personal revival and direction through Biblical counseling. You are not meant to walk alone. Our counselors will demonstrate God’s gracious pursuit of you in relationship: listening and walking alongside of you in your struggle with encouragement and understanding.
What We Do
When a crisis hits and your world is collapsing extra help is needed. BCA counselors are here to help walk alongside you in your pain. We counsel from our own relationship with Christ and our own experience of need. We provide a safe haven and even better, a compassionate listening ear. The temptations, sin and suffering of this world, are common to us all. We bring confidence in Christ alone. We watch the Lord reveal Himself to you through His Word, the Bible and orient you to the ways of Jesus.
Why We Do It
People are made in the image of God therefore people cannot truly know themselves without knowing God. People need to develop their identity from a place of dependency on God. BCA counseling is focused on this dependency. When people get off track they need a way back to God. He tells us the way to walk through life hardships through His written Word. People can recover and gain a sense of self, a sense of purpose to live abundantly but it takes work and people need a guide. That's where biblical counseling comes in. A biblical counselor is a guide to the counselee back to thriving in Christ.
How It Started
In 2015 Biblical Counseling of Arizona became a non-profit counseling agency. Lisa Pearson and Kathi Bishop joined efforts to introduce to the community an up and coming method of counseling that was simply biblical. BCA began out of a need for people of the Christian faith to talk through issues and come up with solutions that would honor God. The group has grown substantially counseling hundreds of Christians across the entire metro Phoenix. We seek to meet the needs of the local church directing them to a relationship with Christ and to come back to their church body with a bounce in their step ready to get involved.
